The Chief cabinets protect the extinguisher from weather and any ambient conditions that might jeopardize its use. The elimination of metal reduces the chance of personal injuries and reduces the possibilities of product liability insurance claims. The unique design of the Chief cabinets also reduces vandalism and theft.

Fire Extinguisher Cabinet, as manufactured by Cato, Inc., with body and frame injection molded of red or white virgin high-impact crystal polystyrene of .110 wall thickness with ultra-violet inhibitors, virgin acrylic Plaskolite® panel of .080 thickness, chromium plated brass cylinder lock and key with weather-proof protective lock cover and polypropylene plastic injected molded hammer with flexible torsion, ribbed grip surface, and clear nylon-jacketed stainless steel mechanical cable.
